The Case Celebration in the Ozarks is our biggest event of the year, with about 3500 Case Collectors from nearly 30 states participating in the festivities which includes the President of W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery, Tom Arrowsmith , Ed Jessup, Maury Ford and others from the National Sales Office, along with Jim & Jean Sargent, nationally known Case Knife authorities, Mark & Linda Karst Stone, scrimshaw artists, Tony Bose, Custom Knife Maker & Case Collaborator, Case Historians, Shirley Boser & Katie Shonts, along with representatives from the Case plant itself.
Taking place on Sept. 12, 2009, this year held an extra special opportunity for Case enthusiasts to have their “favorite Case XX Knife story” recorded and photographed by a professional photographer with the possibility of having it included in the 2010 Case catalog. We were reminded again of how Case is “more” than just a pocketknife during this “storytelling event”. Evident in the stories told and family heirloom Case XX knives brought in to be photographed, it was easy to see Case is part of the very fabric of American life for a great number of us.
With additional activities ranging from Camp Case for Kids to Cutting Competitions to the Historian’s Presentation to bluegrass music to the “Spin a Wheel” the hourly drawings and finally the Grand Prize drawing, the day was full of events and we hope, full of as many happy memories for you, our customers, as there were for all of us here at Shepherd Hills.
