The "Celebrate American Made" &
Shepherd Hills Eddyville Grand Opening Event
Where do we start to tell about the Case XX "Celebrate American Made" & Grand Opening event in Eddyville held June 27, 2009? It’s hard to choose.
Should we begin with the Case XX “Celebrate American Made” Trapper—limited production—with only 50 available only at “Celebrate American Made” events?
Or should we start off with the Ford/Fox Case XX Trapper, limited in production to 100 pieces and wildly popular at the event ?
Maybe we should begin with the Grand Opening Case XX "Specials" table filled with “hard to get” Case XX at prices too low to believe.
Then again, we could tell you all about our brand new location, just behind the old store--all new and improved.
We’re not really sure which should get top billing, but we do know that all those elements combined with the hospitality of the Eddyville staff, the support of lots of Case Collectors, and having Maury Ford & Debbie Fox present made the Grand Opening at Eddyville an extra special day for all who were able to attend.
So, we’re just going to start off here with the highlights of the day in no particular order:
Celebrate American Made Trapper
Available only at the 5-6 “Celebrate American Made” events, 50 of these handsome trappers were on hand at Eddyville, beautifully and fittingly done in red, white, and blue. Not only a great knife to have in your collection, but a reminder that Case XX is proud to be “Made in America”.
Ford/Fox Grand Case XX Trapper
Made specifically to celebrate Eddyville, Case, and the Grand Opening of our Eddyville store, this Case XX was limited in production to 100 pieces, and was very popular among the collectors. With the Shepherd Hills logo aside the W.R.Case & Sons Cutlery logo on the front and “Shepherd Hills Cutlery, Eddyville, KY” on the back, the blades with etched signatures of our honorees, Maury Ford and Debbie Fox completed the package. Maury and Debbie signed certificates of authenticity for each customer.
Grand Opening Specials Case Collectors were very pleasantly surprised at the great selection & wide variety of Case XX knives specially priced for this grand opening event. On a table that was ten feet long, they found knives from a great number of mint sets/collections that were scrolled and numbered available for purchase individually, in all kinds of different patterns, handles, and colors. It was as they say a “feast” and with prices at a very “special” level. In addition to mint set/collection knives, there were also a great number of closeout/discontinued items available also at very low pricing ! Great fun to add some of these pieces to a collection.
The New Location Just behind where the “old” store used to be, we are at 600 Outlet Avenue, right next to Subway.
With parking right at the door and an easy access entrance, we think our Case Collectors will find it even more convenient to get into the store to check out the latest in Case XX.
Grand Prize Drawing
The Grand Prize was a Case XX John Deere Trademark Trapper Prototype. Never easy to get your hands on , a Case prototype would have made anyone in attendance a happy camper. With a crowd of Case Collectors anxiously awaiting, Maury Ford thanked all for coming and asked a young Case enthusiast of the ripe old age of 5 to draw out the winning name of the Grand Prize. As Debbie Fox announced the name: Kim Caron, a gasp went through the crowd as Kim put her hands to her face and called back to her dad, “Happy Father’s Day,
Dad !” Her dad was ecstatic, as Kim immediately relinquished ownership of her Case XX prototype to her dad, Bob Caron. And thus, the Grand Opening event came to a close.
Special Thanks
What a treat to be in our new location, and have so many great Case Collectors come out to help us not only celebrate our Grand Opening in Eddyville, Kentucky, but also truly “Celebrate the American Made” knife that is Case XX. You made the day special by your being there. We thank you for your support.
