On July 20th, 1969, three intrepid men aboard the Apollo 11 spaceflight took to the sea of stars above, and, with the backing of thousands of hours of ingenuity, commitment, and planning, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed upon the moon and claimed it for mankind. This accomplishment inspired an entire generation, creating a fervor that brought nations together and reminded those involved that impossible was merely a word.
Onboard that unprecedented flight to the moon was a Case knife, created by W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery at the request of NASA. It was part of a survival kit that went on every Apollo mission.
A reproduction of that very knife, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, is available now from Case Cutlery and Shepherd Hills here.
